Located in the heart of the village, its construction dates back to the 6th century. It was first a simple chapel dedicated to the cult of Saint Vivien, bishop of Saintes. Threatened with destruction on several occasions, notably during the barbarian invasions and the wars of religion, it was restored and embellished in the 12th century, during which time its remarkable Romanesque apse was built and still stands today. In 1957, the church was given a new bell tower. Its somewhat surprising architectural style is still an inexhaustible source of conversation for visitors and inhabitants of the village.
