Supervised beach
Plage surveillée du Gurp
The beach "Le Gurp" in Grayan-et-l'Hôpital is a long sandy beach with a big sand dune. It is supevised during summer and you can find a lot of history there … namely many bunkers from the second world war, it's a journey through time. At this beach you will feel like being at the end of the world ... you can even see the lighthouse Cordouan. During summer season, it is possible to rent "tiralos" (special wheelchairs for the beach) for hampered people. The access to the beach is easy : from the parking you easily get to the top of the dune. When you come buy the cylcle path, you can reach the beach "La Négade" by heading north in the direction of the beach "L'Amélie" in Soulac-sur-Mer.
