Riding like a cowboy!
At the heart of Hourtin's Western Village, the Westerlies riding center is open all year round for horseback rides in the forest and by the lake.
The Village Western team is keen to introduce you to an original form of riding: Western riding. Developed in the western United States in the 19th century, this style of riding was first and foremost a working equitation practiced on ranches by cowboys. Nowadays, it is also used for leisure and competition riding.
There's a choice of courses (all ages, all levels), baptisms and lunging rides.
Supervision by state-qualified instructors (BPJEPS Western), the choice of horses and quality equipment make Westerlies a top-of-the-range school. The atmosphere is friendly, conducive to the rider?s personal development and respectful of the horse!
