Gospel Concert to Benefit Victims of the Disaster in Le Porge

On Friday, October 23, 2026, at 9:00 p.m., the O’Sisters Gospel Blues band invites you to the Notre-Dame des Flots Church, located at 12 Avenue de l’Adjudant Guittard in Lacanau-Océan, for a charity concert blending gospel and blues.

Organized by the Rotary Club of Lacanau, this event is being held to support the victims of the disaster in Le Porge.

Hailing from the Pointe du Médoc, O’Sisters Gospel Blues brings together six musicians from the Médoc region who live in Soulac-sur-Mer, Vensac, and Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc. The group’s repertoire creates a dialogue between the roots of the blues and the great traditions of gospel.

The program thus blends essential gospel standards such as “Go Down Moses,” “Down by the Riverside,” “Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho,” “Oh When the Saints,” and “Amazing Grace,” as well as gospel blues songs like “John the Revelator,” “Since I Laid My Burden Down,” and “Wade in the Water.”

The audience will also have the chance to discover several “Southern Gospel” songs, some of which were popularized by the Coen brothers’ film *O Brother, Where Art Thou?*, such as “Down in the River to Pray,” “I’ll Fly Away,” “Nobody But the Baby,” and “Welcome Table.” The repertoire also includes songs like “Let It Be” and “Hallelujah,” which fit naturally into the group’s musical world.

On stage, the vocals take center stage, accompanied by guitar, double bass, saxophones, flute, and percussion.
