Heritage Days – 50th anniversary of the Cousseau Reserve

The Etang de Cousseau Nature Reserve is celebrating its 50th anniversary as part of the 2026 Heritage Days, on 19 and 20 September.

On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026, European Heritage Days in Lacanau will feature a programme of guided tours, exhibitions, talks, performances and activities.

Throughout the weekend, the public will be able to explore sites steeped in history – some of which will be open exceptionally for the occasion – and gain a better understanding of the local heritage in all its forms.
Under the theme ‘Heritage at Risk’, this year’s event will also celebrate the bicentenary of photography. An opportunity to explore, share and raise awareness of the importance of preserving this shared heritage, which bears witness to our collective memory.
