Nature Day at La Java: Workshops and a Concert by Amaneja

La Java is hosting two workshops and a concert by the Gascon band Amaneja as part of a Nature Day on Sunday, October 4, starting at 4:00 p.m.

The workshops will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; reservations are required.

4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: “Discover the Clouds” Workshop – Ages 6 to 12
A fun and educational activity to understand what a cloud is, discover how it forms, and learn to identify different types of clouds. Children will be invited to observe the sky and expand their knowledge of weather phenomena.

5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: “Discovering Medicinal Plants” Workshop – All ages
An introduction to recognizing medicinal plants and learning about their characteristics. Participants will be able to observe different species and learn more about their traditional uses and unique features.

The group Amaneja will perform at 6:00 p.m. following the workshops.

“Amaneja,” which means “hurry up,” carries a message of urgency and hope: to preserve a language and culture that are very much alive. Through festive folk music infused with musical poetry, the group brings the Gascon language to life and energetically celebrates the traditions and values of “nostre.”

You’ll have access to the open-air café area half an hour before the concert begins: drinks and light snacks will be available.
