A truly unique site listed as a World Heritage Site! An architectural gem designed to glorify the kings of France, the Cordouan lighthouse has been guiding sailors to the mouth of the estuary for over 400 years. You will need to climb 301 steps to reach the lantern before enjoying an extraordinary panorama suspended between sky and sea. Access to the site is only possible by boat at low tide. Once there, you will be welcomed by the keepers. The visit is self-guided.
