On the same west bank of the lake, Piqueyrot, a corner of paradise for bathers and walkers, with its small beach, the gentle rhythm of life punctuated by the lapping of the sailboats of the champions of Hourtin Sailing Club just next door.

The strange spring of Pelous...
In 1908, Louis Brière, owner of a plot of land in the current Nature Reserve of the Dunes and Marshes of Hourtin, decided to exploit a spring on his land. This ferruginous mineral water had therapeutic properties. The "sovereign" was short-lived and all that remains at this place is a small brick building and the legend that remains here.
