Come and experience the Médoc Atlantique Frenchman Triathlon in Carcans-Maubuisson, around France’s largest natural freshwater lake. For four days, more than 7,500 athletes, both amateurs and experienced competitors, will set off from the heart of the Médoc pine forest, turning the destination into the triathlon capital.

Immerse yourself in the adventure of the Médoc Atlantique Frenchman Triathlon and choose your starting point from five race formats, ranging from the most accessible to the ultimate challenge. Swimming, cycling and running around the majestic Lake Hourtin-Carcans… Ready to take on the challenge?

5 race formats

 The Kids format is specially designed for younger children, with distances adapted to each age group: between 25 m and 150 m for swimming and between 200 m and 1 km for running.

 The XS format is the smallest triathlon available, ideal for discovering the discipline and taking on your first challenge: 400 metres of swimming, 10 kilometres of cycling and 2.5 kilometres of running.

 The M format is ideal for challenging yourself over the Olympic distance, perfect for triathletes looking to take their performance to the next level: 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycle and 10 km run.

 The L format is an intermediate step between the Olympic distance and the XXL format, offering a challenging course for triathletes seeking performance and endurance: 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21 km running.

 The XXL format is the heart of the Médoc Atlantique Frenchman Triathlon, the holy grail of the event: 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42 km running.

Between forests, dunes and coastlines, the Médoc Atlantique Frenchman Triathlon invites you to discover the Médoc Atlantique region in all its facets. Swim in France’s largest natural freshwater lake, cycle through varied landscapes of pine forests and marshes, and run through the heart of the Carcans-Bombannes forest along the shores of Lake Hourtin-Carcans. The start, transitions and finish lines are located in the heart of the village of Carcans-Maubuisson, allowing your loved ones to cheer you on while enjoying this exceptional setting to the full. An ideal place to push yourself, breathe and savour the Médoc Atlantique in a different way.
