Vertheuil-en-Médoc is the new Kingston for a weekend… With 3 open-air stages, the concerts take place day and night in an incredible atmosphere at the Domaine de Nodris… The SunSka promotes open-mindedness in music and introduces its 60,000 festival-goers to the richness of reggae music and the diversity of world music. Like a medocain in zion

Pine green, sunshine yellow and grape red : aren’t the colours of the SunSka Festival a perfect match for the art of living in the Médoc ? Set between vineyards and the ocean, the SunSka Festival is as much a musical interlude as it is a bubble of summer wellbeing, where you can recharge your batteries in an atmosphere full of the good vibes preached by the reggae philosophy.

More than a music festival, it’s an immersive experience in the heart of Vertheuil. Here, dancing is collective, singing is communion. A huge space invites you to continue your encounters and exchanges: sport, conferences, crafts and local producers, as well as a Kids’ area where you can enjoy the festival with your family…

The party continues in the camping area set up especially for SunSka. Holders of the camping pass will have access to a wide range of activities: inflatable games, volleyball, pétanque, circus and yoga workshops, meetings with local associations and local players. And, of course, DJ sets throughout the day.

Eco-SunSka

A sustainable festival, part of a pilot eco-citizen approach

The SunSka festival is one of the pioneers in eco-responsibility. For 20 years, it has been actively committed to minimising its impact on the environment. On a local scale, so as not to damage the natural setting of the Médoc that hosts the festival and makes it so unique in the eyes of festival-goers. But it’s also a way of getting people to think more globally about the ecology of events. This involves sorting waste, making early use of eco-cups, reducing energy costs, promoting local products, etc. This SunSka philosophy, a pioneer in its field, was awarded a “Coup de Coeur” by the Nicolas Hulot Foundation in 2008 !

Dozens of volunteers looking after your well-being

The festival is also committed to risk prevention. Its brigade of volunteers roams the site in “operation coup d’main” mode ! They raise participants’ awareness of the dangers of excessive alcohol consumption, hand out condoms, earplugs and breathalysers, and make sure that the great reggae festival is not marred by any bad behaviour.
