Short Theatre Festival

As summer approaches, Carcans-Maubuisson is transformed into an open-air stage! By the lake and in the heart of the town, creative theatre groups invite you to discover the summer season in a whole new light.

Over the course of a weekend, 15 troupes from the Cours Florent in Bordeaux and Montpellier will take to the stage to perform their Court Théâtre play. Facing the general public and a panel of professional judges, they will compete for the top prize.

In Carcans-Maubuisson, by the lake, on three open-air stages – the Lac stage, the Chapelle stage, the Pôle stage – as well as at the Salle de l’Estran.

Who is responsible ?

The Médoc Atlantique Tourist Office and the municipality of Carcans-Maubuisson, in partnership with the Cours Florent and the Café Théâtre de Carcans.

The rules

The Festival du Court Théâtre is first and foremost a place for theatre and creative enthusiasts to share and exchange ideas.

To provide a framework for this new concept, 7 rules have been drawn up to guide the troupes taking part in the Festival:

Duration : 20 minutes maximum.

Actors : 5 maximum on stage.

Sets : 3 set pieces simultaneously.

Style : comedy, drama, cabaret, music hall, object theatre… there are no rules as long as the troupe gives its best !

Format : plays, extracts from plays, mock-ups… each troupe is free to propose the format that suits it best.

Indoor or outdoor: the plays must be able to be presented in any setting.

Philosophy : good humour and a sense of sharing will be the watchwords of the troupes, the organisers and the audience !
