Lacanau Triathlon

In previous years, the Lacanau Triathlon has attracted more than 2,000 triathletes to an exceptional setting between Lacanau Lake and Moutchic Beach. Throughout the weekend, the event offers a programme that is both sporting and festive, combining different race formats and numerous activities.

The races

The Lacanau Triathlon offers three formats:

The L Format, a challenge for the most daring individuals or relay teams: 1.9 km swim in the lake, 87 km bike ride in 2 loops and 21 km run.

The M Format, for pushing yourself over the Olympic distance, either individually or in a relay: 1.5 km swim, 43 km cycle and 10 km run in 2 loops.

The Youth Aquathlons, an event specially designed for budding young triathletes, offering a first competitive experience adapted to their age.

Entertainment throughout the weekend!

Beyond the competition, the Moutchic sports village welcomes the whole family! Entertainment is planned throughout the weekend. You will also find many exhibitors in the village: sports shops, triathlon professionals, food stands, etc. In an eco-friendly approach, ‘La Grande Récup’ du Sport’ collection points are also available so that everyone can drop off their old sports clothing and equipment for recycling.

Dive into the heart of the lake and pine forest

Set among pine trees, beaches and wild islands, the Lacanau Triathlon immerses you in the iconic landscape of the Médoc region. Swim in Lake Moutchic, cycle through the Médoc pine forest and run along trails and beaches for a unique sporting experience. Spectators can also enjoy the spectacular scenery as they follow the race and take in the surrounding nature.
