Try naturism on the Atlantic's wild beaches

Immense forests, beaches as far as the eye can see, spirited waves from the Atlantic and an iodised breeze: the wild side of the Médoc coast almost makes you want to return to the state of nature. It’s no coincidence that Médoc Atlantique is one of Europe’s favourite destinations for naturists. Fancy taking off your swimming costume? Head to Euronat, Europe’s largest naturist centre, for a unique 100% bare-assed holiday experience. Or head to one of the serene, family-friendly naturist beaches at Grayan-et-l’Hôpital and Le Verdon-sur-Mer, for a first-time experience.

Médoc Atlantique, the ideal destination

What’s the point of spending your holidays in the nude, other than travelling light? Try naturism once, and you’ll understand… The direct sensation of the wind and sun on your skin, the feeling of freedom of swimming without a swimming costume, being at one with the ocean: naturism allows an unfiltered osmosis with the elements that surround us, a bit like returning to the state of nature. It’s so invigorating!

Dare to be naturist!

Taking off your clothes also means freeing yourself from certain social codes that dictate who you are. In the nude, we are all equal. That’s why naturism is increasingly attracting a new, greener generation in search of essential values.

With its vast natural spaces, forests, vineyards and ocean, the Médoc Atlantique is inevitably the favourite naturist destination for Adam and Eve from all over Europe. Away from the crowds, it allows everyone to experience naturism at their own pace, against a backdrop of breathtaking scenery.

Euronat : Europe’s largest naturist centre

Located in Médoc Atlantique

Created in 1975 at Grayan-et-l’Hôpital, Euronat is a haven for naturists seeking a total experience. Every year, it welcomes up to 10,000 bare-assed naturists from all over Europe, in 335 hectares of unspoilt countryside, with direct access to 1.5 km of beach. Nestling in the heart of the pine forest, Euronat offers holidays at all price levels, with its intimate, well-spaced chalets and vast camping area.

There’s an incredible sense of freedom in doing all the things you do every day: shopping, eating out, playing pétanque… At Euronat, you can try practically anything! One of the most fun activities to try out is yoga. Surfing too: naked, you feel as close to the ocean as possible.

Naturist beaches

Of the Médoc Atlantique

Fancy sunbathing and swimming naked for an afternoon? Médoc-Atlantique has some lovely naturist beaches away from the prying eyes of the “textile” crowd.

One of Euronat’s beaches, plage Dépée centre, is accessible to non-residents of the holiday centre.

To the south of Soulac-sur-Mer, Plage de la Négade is also a naturist HQ. Beware, however, that it is not supervised.

Saint-Nicolas beach at Le Verdon-sur-Mer is the best known, and has the advantage of being supervised in summer if you want to go swimming with the family. At the tip of the Médoc, on the Vélodyssée itinerary, it offers a remarkable view of the Cordouan lighthouse. Part textile, part naturalistic, we recommend it to the timid and hesitant for a first experience.
