There are also a number of ice-cream parlours at the foot of the dune for those with a sweet tooth. For lovers, the romantic postcard is guaranteed: the rocking of the waves, the scent of pine trees and the iodised air… the atmosphere is conducive to the most beautiful declarations! With friends, seasoned surfers can catch the last rollers, while others can remake the world over an aperitif. And to reconnect with yourself, it’s the perfect time for a jog once the summer heat has died down.

This is our incredible Médoc Walk of Fame, and its stars can be counted in their thousands. When night falls, put your blanket on the sand, look up into the sky and take in the scenery! Far from the city lights and urban sprawl, people sometimes come from far away to savour the unvarnished spectacle of the celestial vault. When the sun goes down, Pin Sec beach reveals the full extent of its beauty. Instagrammers are not mistaken: it’s THE ideal spot for perfect shots. Le Pin Sec is located on an elevated plateau, with a completely unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean. Admire: first the sun, reddening as it declines, haloed in tawny, pink and orange hues. Then, its golden reflections add sparkle to the ocean. Violet, indigo… the sky then makes its bed in a cameo of exceptional colours, inspiring some of the painters and watercolourists around you. Finally, the horizon becomes infinite: where is the water, where is the sky? The last surfers in the distance seem to be flying right into a Monet painting…

 Get some height: the view from the dune is magical, offering a 360° panorama of the wild Pin Sec beach. Just make sure you stay on the authorised path.

Or opt for the blue hour: the colours of the sky and ocean plunge you into a phantasmagorical atmosphere, and the horizon seems endless. Combine nature and urbex with the former bunkers of the Atlantic Wall in the foreground. Half-sanded on the beach and coloured by graffiti artists, they will give your photos a particularly original character at nightfall.
