European Heritage Days: a tour of the bunkers
On Saturday 19 September 2026, from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm, the European Heritage Days will offer free tours of the bunkers.
The Forteresse Gironde Sud association is organising a guided tour of the Batterie des Arros. Originally a pre-war French battery that became a German stronghold from 1940 onwards, this site is home to numerous structures and ruins that are well worth a visit.
Duration: 2 hours – Free.
Departure at 10.00 am – Meet at the red and white gate at the far end of the car park.
Please bring a torch and wear closed-toe shoes.
Booking required at the Médoc Atlantique Tourist Offices.
