Heritage Days – Tour of the Town Hall
The Town Hall will open its doors on Saturday 19 September as part of Heritage Days in Lacanau-Ville.
From 3 pm to 5 pm
The Town Hall will host an exhibition dedicated to the First World War, featuring readings of soldiers’ accounts.
6.00 pm – Town Hall
Lecture by Yan Lespoux, senior lecturer in the Occitan Department at Paul-Valéry Montpellier III University.
An event open to all, offering an insight into the history of the Occitan language, its evolution and its place in our intangible heritage.
On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026, the European Heritage Days will offer a programme of guided tours, exhibitions, lectures, performances and activities in Lacanau.
Throughout the weekend, the public will be able to explore sites steeped in history – some of which will be open exceptionally for the occasion – and gain a better understanding of the local heritage in all its forms.
Under the theme ‘Heritage at Risk’, this year’s event will also celebrate the bicentenary of photography. An opportunity to explore, share and raise awareness of the importance of preserving this shared heritage, which bears witness to our collective memory.
