Heritage Days – Tour of the Musée de la Mémoire Canaulaise

On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026, the European Heritage Days will feature a programme of guided tours, exhibitions, talks, performances and activities in Lacanau.

Visit to the Musée de la Mémoire Canaulaise: Discover an exhibition paying tribute to Georges Coulonges, as well as a permanent collection dedicated to the trades, tools and objects of the 19th and 20th centuries that bring to life the history of Lacanau.

Throughout the weekend, visitors will be able to explore sites steeped in history – some of which will be open exceptionally for the occasion – and gain a deeper understanding of the local heritage in all its forms.
Under the theme ‘Heritage at Risk’, this year’s event will also celebrate the bicentenary of photography. An opportunity to explore, share and raise awareness of the importance of preserving this shared heritage, which bears witness to our collective memory.
