From August 21 to 28, 2026, the Domaine de Bombannes will host the HC16 (Hobie Cat 16) European Championship, a major catamaran regatta announced by the Cercle de Voile de Bordeaux Carcans-Maubuisson (CVBCM).

This spectacular event will feature speed, maneuvering, and strategy in close proximity to the wind.

Located on the shores of Lake Carcans-Hourtin (approximately 6,600 hectares, presented by the club as the largest natural freshwater lake in France), the CVBCM offers an ideal setting for watching the races from the shore: a wide horizon, a vast navigable area, and a 100% natural setting between the lake and pine forest.

For spectators, it's a great opportunity to come and watch a fleet of Hobie Cat 16s in action: starts, close-hauled sailing, gybes, buoy passages, and more.
