Le Sentier de la Réserve Naturelle de L’étang de Cousseau
Take a stroll through the Etang Cousseau nature reserve in Lacanau. Discover the secrets of this unspoilt natural landscape amidst wooded dunes and marshes. Far from the hustle and bustle of the town, you can observe the local flora, particularly the molinia, an elegant grass. The local wildlife is also present here, and in winter numerous species seek refuge here, including the iconic grey cranes. Would you prefer to be accompanied? The Sepanso guides organise themed tours throughout the year to help you discover this unique environment. How to get there? From Lacanau or Carcans-Maubuisson, take the D6E1 to the nature reserve car park (Marmande district) and then follow the footpath for 1.5 km. Cycle paths lead to the Règue Verte or Lesperon cycle parks, which are located near the route. To preserve the diversity of this area, only bicycles are permitted. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead. In summer, remember to protect yourself from the sun with a hat or cap, and bring plenty of water, insect repellent and a bike lock. Ready for the adventure? Let’s go!
