Le Sentier Dunaire de Soulac-sur-Mer
Follow the path marked with wood chips and set off to discover the flora and fauna typical of the dunes, on a walk lasting around 30 to 45 minutes. Information boards and an orientation table are available to help you better understand the unique features of our coastline. The coastline, a transition zone between land and sea, is home to an exceptional wealth of biodiversity and heritage, closely linked to the diversity of natural habitats. Over the course of history, humanity has become aware of the consequences of reckless exploitation of resources, realising the negative effects of management focused on the immediate satisfaction of its needs, often at the expense of natural balances. Today, thanks to the technical and scientific expertise of organisations such as the National Forestry Office and the Conservatoire du Littoral, as well as financial support from public authorities, it is possible to reconcile the protection of biodiversity and landscapes with welcoming the public and preserving economic activities.
