Sentier des Rousserolles - Réserve Naturelle de Hourtin
For an easy one-hour stroll in the summer heat of the Hourtin Dunes and Marshes Nature Reserve, choose the shaded Rousserolles trail. This path, sheltered by maritime pines, pedunculate oaks and holm oaks, offers a pleasant natural coolness. The viewpoint at Pointe du Gaouléou is a must-see, offering a 360° panoramic view of the lake. You’ll also find an information board detailing the local flora and fauna. The reedbed by the lake, a refuge for many species such as fish, dragonflies and passerines, will captivate your attention. With a bit of luck, you may spot a reed warbler or traces of otters. In July, flower lovers can admire Dortmann’s lobelia. The trail is marked with blue signs and markings. In winter, wellies are recommended, as the headland may be flooded. From the Sailing Club car park, set off on your exploration at your leisure.
