Families are particularly keen to spend an afternoon on the beach at Soulac-sur-Mer, as it is both authentic and safe. The sand stretches as far as the eye can see, allowing everyone to find their own little corner of paradise without sticking their towel up at the neighbours.
In high season, Soulac-sur-Mer has 3 supervised beaches: choose your ideal spot ! The central beach is close to the town centre, and benefits from its lively atmosphere. The Naïades beach (or south beach) is more intimate. Swimming is supervised between the blue flags, and children can enjoy a variety of activities in the nearby skate park and basketball court. The Amélie beach is perfect for surfing and building sandcastles.
Wave-breakers have been built to allow young and old to swim in complete safety.

If you’re not the type to stay put on your beach towel, there are plenty of water sports available at Soulac-sur-Mer. The generous waves of the Atlantic await you to try your hand at surfing, flyboarding or jet-skiing with the grown-ups. If you’re all together, we recommend you try out the towed buoy : giggles guaranteed ! Surf and water sports schools offer sessions for all levels and ages. If you’re worried that some people might not feel at ease in the water, just dip your calves in and discover longe côte.

The heritage of Soulac-sur-Mer is full of fascinating stories that will captivate your children ! For example, did they know that the basilica of Notre-Dame-de-la-Fin-des-Terres was buried under the sand 300 years ago ? Or simply set off on a leisurely hike, and re-discover the world for hours on end as you stroll along, surrounded by the scent of pine trees and wet sand.

In summer, the Marché des Saveurs lights up Saturday evenings with its gourmet stalls of regional specialities, in a friendly, festive atmosphere.
