Yes, there are oyster farms in the Médoc! To be more precise, it is the ripening of the oyster that is done in the salt marshes Médocains called clear.
You can be received by Bertrand, a local oyster farmer. He will explain the history of oyster farming in the Medoc. After many twists and turns, producers of Médoc oysters have obtained the authorization to re-exploit the marshes, and that since 2014. They also produce prawns, clams and other shells that give oysters a special taste.
After a short visit, you can go to tasting!
