Discover the Vélodyssée and travel by bike in Médoc Atlantique

Are you a fan of long bike trips? Then this route, which follows the entire Atlantic coastline, right through the heart of the dunes and a peaceful forest, is just for you! Our advice? Leave your car in Royan, get on your bike, take the ferry and set off across the Gironde by bike. From Soulac-sur-Mer to the Bassin d’Arcachon, there are several stages through the dunes, forests and lakes. Cycling with children

From the ferry terminal at Le Verdon-sur-Mer, take the cycle path along the Atlantic coast towards Soulac-sur-Mer. It’s only 8km long, perfect for children ! Look out for the Cordouan lighthouse offshore, see the remains of the Atlantic Wall and, when you arrive, don’t forget to pay a visit to the UNESCO-listed basilica.
