The heritage of Canaulais

Travelling back in time in Lacanau Océan

Lacanau Océan hides beautiful holiday villas and a “belle époque” atmosphere around its streets, which can be easily explored on foot. An ideal walk to alternate between local anecdotes, architecture and sea air.

Cycle paths,

car-free loops and walks

Lacanau is ideal for cycling trips: you can ride between the town, the lake and the ocean, or simply cycle in the shade of the pine trees. The idea is to choose a route that suits your level and enjoy an easy-to-plan ride.

Nature trails and reserves

Around the lake, Lacanau offers a variety of landscapes: pine forests, sandbanks, wet meadows, viewpoints… The Cousseau Pond Nature Reserve can be visited throughout the seasons, on foot or by bike.
Nearby, the Vire Vieille and Batejin Managed Biological Reserve can be accessed (in part) via an accessible trail, perfect for observing the discreet flora and fauna of the wetlands.

Fun and accessible walks

With the family, in game mode… or gently

To “put an end to boredom”, Lacanau offers a cultural treasure hunt that you can do on your own: a game booklet, puzzles, challenges, perfect for an outing with children.
And for an easy walk, consider itineraries such as “balade à roulettes” (wheelie walks), designed for gentle mobility and leisurely pace.
