Concert at La Java: Gaitas y Tambores de San Jacinto

The Gaitas y Tambores de San Jacinto ensemble will be performing at La Java on Wednesday 13 August at 8.00 pm.

La Java welcomes Gaitas y Tambores de San Jacinto, an iconic ensemble from Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Carrying on a musical tradition passed down through the generations, the group has won numerous awards at the Festival Nacional Autóctono de Gaitas de San Jacinto. For over 30 years, it has helped to promote this musical heritage both in Colombia and internationally.

The concert showcases gaita flutes, drums and traditional dances, offering an immersive experience of the musical repertoires and practices of Colombia’s Caribbean coast.

At the end of the performance, the musicians and dancers will join the audience for an interactive segment, inviting spectators to take part in the dancing in keeping with this tradition.

The evening will continue with a DJ set dedicated to cumbia, salsa, merengue and Afro-Caribbean rhythms.
