DISCOVERING THE WHITE STORK: BETWEEN SCIENCE AND ART

How do white storks live? Where do they go as the seasons change, and what challenges do they face during their migrations?

This talk, led by Raphaël Musseau, an ecology researcher at Biosphère Environnement, invites you to discover the secrets of this iconic bird of the Atlantic coast. Thanks to GPS trackers fitted to the storks, scientists can track their movements, gain a better understanding of their habits and study how their populations are changing in the face of environmental shifts.

Science meets art

This event will also provide an opportunity to discover the work of Corinne Bocher, our guest artist, who has been following a pair of storks on their migratory journeys for several years. Through a collection of 100 drawings currently in progress, she recounts their journey and bears witness, with sensitivity and patience, to the beauty of the living world.

Combining scientific observations with artistic perspectives, this talk offers a unique insight into the fascinating world of white storks and their incredible journeys.

An invitation to learn more about these migratory birds and to take a fresh look at the natural world around us!
