The Saint-Estèphe Wine Centre invites you to stop off at the church square in Saint-Estèphe.
On the banks of the Gironde, the Saint-Estèphe vineyard stretches for nearly 7 km, where hillsides and plateaus – all planted with vines – alternate, offering visitors a unique view. Saint-Estèphe is one of the Médoc’s most important appellations, covering an area of 1,220 hectares.

It is on the church square that you will find the Maison du Vin de Saint-Estèphe.
Your visit will include a free guided wine tasting, available all year round. Here you can sample all the appellation’s wines at château prices, and it serves as the starting point for visiting the appellation’s vineyards and estates.
Of the six communal appellations, Saint-Estèphe is undoubtedly the one offering the greatest variety of terroirs. Its vineyards are situated on particularly well-drained gravelly hilltops. This terroir is also characterised by a subsoil composed of clay and limestone, which gives the wines their distinctive character and ensures they cater to all tastes whilst retaining a family resemblance: very rich, round and full-bodied tannins lend them a beautiful deep red colour and a powerful structure, without compromising their great aromatic finesse. Its character and quality are the result of ‘the bounty of the land and the skill of the winemakers’.
Particularly suited to ageing, after a few years in the bottle it develops a generous bouquet of great complexity and true distinction. The tannins blend seamlessly with the whole, creating a sense of great harmony.
