Sentier de la Linaire - Réserve Naturelle de Hourtin
The Linaire Trail in Hourtin Plage is a unique route that winds its way through a barren dune ridge, offering incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the majestic maritime pine forest on the other. The trail is named after a wildflower, the toadflax, which grows in this unspoilt natural environment. Throughout the route, information boards help visitors better understand the phenomenon of marine erosion, illustrating how the ocean is constantly shaping this landscape. The diversity of the local flora and fauna is revealed with every step, in a setting that is both wild and soothing. The return journey takes you through a winding pine forest, where the shade and resinous scents create an atmosphere perfect for relaxation, before reaching the car park at the south beach. This trail perfectly combines nature discovery with environmental awareness, making the walk an experience that is as enriching as it is enjoyable.
