On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026, the European Heritage Days will offer a programme of guided tours, exhibitions, talks, performances and activities in Lacanau.

Guided walk at La Forge with Jean Perroteau: A guided tour of the ‘La Forge’ site and a presentation of the latest historical discoveries.

Throughout the weekend, the public will be able to explore places steeped in history – some of which will be open exceptionally for the occasion – and gain a better understanding of the local heritage in all its forms.
Under the theme ‘Heritage at Risk’, this year’s event will also celebrate the bicentenary of photography. An opportunity to explore, share and raise awareness of the importance of preserving this shared heritage, which bears witness to our collective memory.
