Heritage Days - “Passeur de mémoire” Exhibition
On Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, 2026, the European Heritage Days will feature a program of guided tours, exhibitions, lectures, performances, and activities in Lacanau.
Throughout the weekend, the public will have the opportunity to explore sites steeped in history—some of which will be open exceptionally for the occasion—and gain a deeper understanding of the local heritage in all its forms.
Under the theme “Heritage in Peril,” this year’s event will also celebrate the bicentennial of photography. It’s an opportunity to explore, share, and raise awareness about the preservation of this shared heritage, which bears witness to our collective memory.
“Passeurs de Mémoire” Exhibition at Villa Plaisance:
Through a participatory photography exhibition, the Lacanau Cultural Association invites the public to offer a personal perspective on endangered heritage sites and ways to preserve them.
Faced with the effects of climate change, urbanization, migration, conflict, and digitization, cultural and natural heritage is undergoing profound transformations. This exhibition invites everyone to become a “keeper of memory” by sharing their perspective on this fragile yet essential heritage.
Under the theme “Revive. Resist. Reinvent,” it sparks a collective reflection on the transmission, protection, and reinvention of our heritage.
