To each his own on the signposted paths of the Médoc Atlantique. The topoguides guide you freely around the region, in digital version on your phone or in paper version, available free of charge from the Tourist Offices. Between vineyards, soulac villas and unspoilt natural areas, they are packed with valuable anecdotes. A 1km digestive stroll in the Marais du Gua, or a more challenging 10km discovery of the Richard Lighthouse at Jau-Dignac-et-Loirac ? There’s bound to be a tour to suit your mood !

Poï’z in sight at Médoc Atlantique!
No, you haven’t heard of this geocaching application? Tèrra Aventura turns any walk or visit to a town into a wild treasure hunt, guided by colourful “poï’z” characters. Children love it, and adults aren’t the last to get caught up in the game. Free to play at your own pace on your mobile phone, the courses of all levels lead you to a final cache where one of 35 Poiz badges awaits you to collect. Be warned, you’ll soon be hooked! Médoc Atlantique has 5 courses: Soulac-sur-Mer, Lacanau, Hourtin, Le Verdon-sur-Mer and Carcans-Maubuisson.

Pilgrimage to Médoc Atlantique
At the crossroads of the roads to Santiago de Compostela
From the Pointe du Verdon-sur-Mer to the gateway to the Bay of Arcachon, pilgrims are welcomed on the emblematic hiking trails of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Two routes intersect here, punctuated by monuments full of anecdotes such as the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-la-Fin-des-Terres and evidence of a strong Templar presence throughout the Médoc Atlantique. The Gironde coastal path starts here at Le Verdon-sur-Mer and Soulac-sur-Mer. And the Voie Historique will take you as far as the astonishing Saint-Jean-Baptiste de L’Hôpital chapel. Don’t forget to stop by the Tourist Office to get your credencial stamped !
