Strolling around the Gironde estuary
Here, the estuary reveals itself gently: dykes and mattes, small traditional ports, marshes inhabited by birds, and panoramic views of the Gironde. On foot, by mountain bike or on an easily accessible walk, you can ‘switch off the engine’ and take the time to observe a land and water territory that is unique in the Médoc.
Ports, squares and panoramas
Stroll along the waterfront and take in the views
On the estuary, walks offer a concentration of atmospheres: dykes, channels, fishing huts, and peaceful ports where you can easily stop to admire the landscape. Not to be missed: the Richard Lighthouse loop, with its 360° view once you reach the lighthouse.
Between vineyards and marshes
The Médoc “patchwork” estuary version
In Queyrac, the estuary can be seen between rows of vines and wetlands: an easy family walk “between vineyards and marshes”, or a shorter loop in the shade in summer.

Heritage and villages
Walking around to understand the history of the place
Around the estuary, certain walks have that little extra something: you walk through landscapes of dykes and marshes, and come across places that tell the story of the area, from ancient times to navigation on the Gironde.
