The festival of the environment, the forest and the trades of the Médoc

This event pays tribute to the know-how of the past to agricultural, forestry and tourist trades through conferences and shows, and offers various sports activities and concerts in Carcans-Maubuisson. You would see for example a hundred-year-old mobile steam sawmill working !

4 good reasons to come to the Fête de l'Environnement, de la Forêt et des Métiers du Médoc (FEFOMM)

From September 3 to 8, 2024, the Carcans Fête la Forêt association is organizing the fourth edition of the Fête de l'Environnement, de la Forêt et des Métiers du Médoc. It's a unique opportunity to discover the region and the key players who work every day to preserve it. The event is open to the general public.

1- For the environment and the climate

This 4th edition of the FEFOMM is an opportunity to learn about the links between wooded dunes, wetlands and climate, and to understand the issues at stake in the transformations taking place.

2- For the diversity of exhibitors

Over 70 exhibitors will be present at Maubuisson on September 7 and 8. In the 4 villages, visitors will be able to discover local forestry companies and, through them, the different trades they offer, as well as the associations and institutional services that work on a daily basis to protect the environment and promote biodiversity, not forgetting forestry training establishments.
Many local artisans will be on hand with their creations.

3- For the entertainment and activities on offer

Throughout the weekend of September 7 and 8, a whole host of activities will be on offer, including barrel rolling, a lumberjack competition, the stages in the construction of a “Courtiou”, sheep and sheepdogs...

Young and old alike will also be able to take part in original activities such as barrel paddling, scuba diving, water-skiing...

Throughout the week (from 3rd to 6th), the organizers are offering themed evenings in Carcans-bourg.

4- Location

FEFOMM will take place in Maubuisson, right next to the forest and with a breathtaking view of France's largest freshwater lake.
