In addition to the wide range of activities available to children, there are plenty of safe picnic spots around the peaceful lagoon. Simple pleasures are the best, aren’t they ? Like spreading a generous amount of Médoc pâté on your freshly baked bread before taking a dip in the water.

Hiking and cycling
There’s no shortage of picturesque walking and cycling trails to make the most of the unspoilt countryside. The lake path takes you to the Domaine de Bombannes, between lake and forest, lined with land art installed by Pauline Beugniot with the ONF. By bike, the hot-spots are all linked by cycle paths. Practical, isn’t it ? The Cavalles loop (15km) is a breath of fresh air from the lake to the ocean beach. Runners are spoilt for choice: jogging-sunset on the beach at Carcans, a cool run by the lake or the scent of pine trees in the forest.
