Château Le Temple de Tourteyron

AOC appellation : Médoc

The Domaine Le Temple de Tourteyron, now operated by Jean-Pierre, Mélissa and Loïc, the third and fourth generations of the BERGEY family, has a history that goes back to the Order of the Templars.

Indeed, the name Domaine, present on bottles of wine of 1990, finds its origin by the presence of Templars who welcomed the Pilgrims of Santiago de Compostela in the hospital which is today a dwelling house.

The other part of the name, "Tourteyron", is derived from the patois which means Tourterelles indicating a large passage of these migratory birds today protected, some of which were elected home, year-round, in the farm buildings.

After many evolutions, the story continues. The farm has 80 hectares of land (Vine, Pairies, Bois) including 24 hectares of vineyards in AOC Médoc and a herd of lactating cows of Charolais breed.
