La Petite Canau
"Famous for the extensive breeding of gambas, certified organic, and the refining of Médoc oysters, the aquaculture farm ""La Petite Canau"" in Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc is a 45 ha marine farm created in 1988.
At the farm, discover the "Claires du Médoc" oysters, first developed at sea and then opened for two to three years in the parks of Marennes, the Bassin d'Arcachon and Normandy. Selected for their shells and their flesh quality, they then blossom in a few weeks or a few months, depending on the season, in the Petite Canau beds on the banks of the Gironde estuary.
In this remarkable environment, the richness and diversity of the plankton, the result of the mixture of the fertile waters of the estuary and those of the ocean, combined with the quality of the terroir of our clay oyster beds, offer dense flesh and a delicious nutty taste.
On summer evenings you can even enjoy these delicious products directly on the spot. Enjoy, you are in the Médoc, good tasting!
