Eating oysters and prawns
Fancy some oysters by the water? For this, head to the estuary where you will be surprised to learn that the producers combine oyster farming and prawn breeding for a festival of flavours. Take the time to relax in the small oyster ports while listening to the lapping of the water in the marshes or the wind in the fields. More than a simple tasting of local dishes, eating oysters and prawns in Médoc Atlantique allows you to take a break and awaken all your senses!
Visit an aquaculture farm
For a more in-depth discovery and unusual information on the oysters and gambas of the Médoc, take part in the "Médoc oysters from port to port" tour in Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc, organised by the Tourist Office.
Our favourite: the Port of Talais
During your walk along the estuary, don't forget to pass by the small port of Talais. This old fishing port with its white and blue huts is waiting for you for new tastings. In the heart of the fields and marshes, expect to fall under the charm of the place and those who animate it. In the summer, you can even take advantage of the many concerts and events that will make your guinguette evenings last! During the day, before thinking about a siesta, follow the cycle path towards the estuary and you will discover a magnificent view of the Gironde.
