Marais du Conseiller

The marshes of Le Conseiller stretch as far as the eye can see, over more than 600 hectares. Between salt ponds, formerly used for salt production and today for the production of gambas and oysters, and wet meadows where cows and horses graze as in a small Camargue, they offer very open landscapes with few hedges and trees. Water is omnipresent, in large basins or small ponds, trapped between channels or spreading freely in the meadows. Situated on the invisible migratory route of birds, the marsh has a great diversity of flora and fauna.
The Curuma/CPIE Médoc association in charge of managing the site offers guided tours in season to discover this wetland.
